What's Actually New in Dungeons II
Most "what's new" roundups recycle the trailer. Here's what the official gameplay deep-dive (August 31) actually confirmed, and why each change matters for how you'll play:
- An interconnected world instead of a mission table. No more selecting isolated levels from camp — you now roam large connected regions with settlements, structures, fast-travel hubs, and caves whose layouts change between visits. Getting lost is a real risk; the world map and friend-teleport exist for a reason.
- 12 combat slots, doubled from 6. Builds are dramatically deeper. You can carry backup weapons for different situations instead of respeccing at camp.
- Armor is now four pieces — helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots — instead of one item. Mixed sets are a real strategy.
- Talismans are a new equipment category providing passive bonuses. Think of them as your build's engine room.
- Random effects on items. Two drops of the same sword can behave differently, which changes what "best in slot" even means.
- Unlimited, recharging ammo for projectile weapons. Ranged builds no longer ration arrows.
- You can jump. Yes, really — new for the sequel, and it changes encounter design.
- Co-op everywhere: couch co-op, online cross-play, mixed co-op (local + online combined), matchmaking, and joinable party codes. Parties of up to four.
- Main quests and side quests. Side quests range from tracking down a beekeeper's missing bees to pursuing the Twisted Warden, and reward gear on top of XP.

How We're Covering Launch
This guide is live-updating through launch day. Pages marked pre-launch profile are built from official reveals; in-game tested numbers replace them as we play through the first hours. We don't publish damage numbers we haven't measured or seen verified — if a stat isn't on a page yet, it's because the game isn't out yet, not because we forgot.
